Where to Get Free Food in Orlando This Winter

Coming to get free groceries should feel easy and kind. Here is what you can expect on food days at Daily Bread Distribution Center, plus a few simple tips to help your visit go smoothly.
What Food Days Are Like
When you come to a food day, you do not need to feel nervous. Everyone is welcome. You will be greeted by friendly faces who are happy to help.
You will pick up free groceries to take home to your family. The food helps stretch your budget so you can spend less at the store and more on other needs, like rent or gas.
Food days are open to your neighbors across Central Florida. Whether you are new to Orlando or have lived here for years, there is a spot for you in our line.
What to Bring
You do not need much to get free groceries. Still, a few simple things can make your visit easier.
- A bag, box, or cart. This helps you carry your food home. A reusable bag or laundry basket works great.
- A way to get home. If you drive, that is fine. If a friend or family member can give you a ride, that helps too.
- Patience and a smile. Sometimes there is a short wait. We try to move quickly and treat everyone with care.
You do not need to bring money. The food is always free. You do not need to prove anything to be loved and helped here.
Tips for a Smooth Visit
A little planning can make your food day go even better. Here are some friendly tips from our team.
Come ready for Florida weather. Our days can be hot and sunny, then rainy fast. Bring water, wear a hat, and pack a small umbrella just in case. If it is very warm, dress in light clothes.
Arrive with time to spare. Lines can grow, so coming a little early can help. But do not worry if you arrive later — we want to serve as many neighbors as we can.
Plan how to store your food. When you get home, put cold items in the fridge or freezer right away. This keeps your groceries fresh and safe to eat. A cooler in your car helps on hot days.
Ask questions. If you are not sure where to go or what to do, just ask. Our staff and volunteers are glad to point you in the right direction.
You Are Welcome Here
We believe no one in our community should go hungry. Asking for help takes courage, and we are honored that you trust us.
While you are here, take a look around. We offer more than food. You can learn about our free job-skills classes, community wellness, and our new driver-safety program called CADD. There may be more here to help you and your family thrive.
